Stable Bleaching Powder - Grasim, DCM, GACL - Latest Price Updates

Bleaching Powder or Calcium hypochlorite is an inorganic compound with formula Ca(ClO)2. As a mixture with lime and calcium chloride, it is marketed as chlorine powder or bleaching powder for water treatment and as a bleaching agent. This compound is relatively stable and has greater available chlorine than sodium hypochlorite. It is a white solid, although commercial samples appear yellow. It strongly smells of chlorine, owing to its slow decomposition in moist air. It is not highly soluble in hard water, and is more preferably used in soft to medium-hard water.

Calcium hypochlorite is commonly used to sanitize public swimming pools and disinfect drinking water. Generally the commercial substance is sold with a purity of a 65 to 73% with other chemicals present, such as calcium chloride and calcium carbonate, resulting from the manufacturing process. As a swimming pool chemical, it is blended with other chemicals less often than other forms of chlorine, due to dangerous reactions with some common pool chemicals. In solution, calcium hypochlorite could be used as a general purpose sanitizer, but due to calcium residue, sodium hypochlorite (bleach) is usually preferred.

Bleaching Powder Calcium hypochlorite is stored dry and cold, away from any organic material and metals. The hydrated form is safer to handle.

Starch Powder

Pure starch powder is a white, tasteless and odorless that is insoluble in cold water or alcohol. It consists of linear and helical amylose molecules and the branched amylopectin. Depending on the plant, starch generally contains 20 to 25% amylose and 75 to 80% amylopectin by weight.Glycogen, the glucose store of animals, is a more branched version of amylopectin.

Starch or amylum is a polymeric carbohydrate consisting of a large number of glucose units joined by glycosidic bonds. This polysaccharide is produced by most green plants as an energy store. It is the most common carbohydrate in human diets and is contained in large amounts in staple foods such as potatoes, wheat, maize (corn), rice, and cassava.

In industry, starch is converted into sugars, for example by malting, and fermented to produce ethanol in the manufacture of beer, whisky and biofuel. It is processed to produce many of the sugars used in processed foods. Dissolving starch in warm water gives wheatpaste, which can be used as a thickening, stiffening or gluing agent. The biggest industrial non-food use of starch is as an adhesive in the papermaking process. Starch can be applied to parts of some garments before ironing, to stiffen them.

Zeolite

Zeolite is a crystalline solids structures made of silicon, aluminum and oxygen. They can perform ion exchange, filtering, odor removal, chemical sieve and gas absorption tasks. The most well known use for zeolites is in water softeners. Calcium in water can cause it to be "hard" and capable of forming scale and other problems. Zeolites charged with the much less damaging sodium ions can allow the hard water to pass through its structure and exchange the calcium for the sodium ions. In a similar way zeolites can absorb ions and molecules and thus act as a filter for odor control, toxin removal and as a chemical sieve.

Use of Different Grade Zeolies:
  • Aquaculture - Decreases ammonia levels in ponds and tanks, filtrates water for cleaner tanks.
  • Detergents
  • Medical
  • Agriculture
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Increases biological activity, reduces nutrient levels, cuts sludge volume and odours, reduces ammonia and BOD levels in ion exchange columns or bed effluent, can be back flushed and regenerated, with ammonia recovered for fertiliser, increases sewerage plant capacity and life cycle.
  • Vermiculture - Traps nitrogen through cation-exchange, eliminates odours in worm farms, absorbs and holds heavy metals, stabilises the pH value of worm beds, increases the nutrient value of vermicast.
  • Mining - Remediation of mines through absorption and retention of dangerous heavy metals and other metallurgical wastes.
  • Horticulture - Retains nutrients longer to lower fertiliser costs, substantial yield improvements, less nutrient leeching, long term soil improvement.
  • Stockfeeds - Diminishes ammonia toxicity and scouring, increases nitrogen levels in manures for higher fertiliser values, reduces odour levels in sheds and a safer, slow release off ammonia from urea, produces lower mortality rates in fowls and limits the moisture levels in organic wastes.

Pyrophyllite Powder

Pyrophyllite is a phyllosilicate mineral species belonging to the clay family and composed of aluminum silicate hydroxide : AlSi2O5OH. Pyrophyllite Powder occur in two more or less distinct varieties, namely, as crystalline folia and as compact masses; distinct crystals are not known. The folia have a pronounced pearly luster, owing to the presence of a perfect cleavage parallel to their surfaces : they are flexible but not elastic, and are usually arranged radially in fan-like or spherical groups. This variety, when heated before the blowpipe, exfoliates and swells up to many times its original volume, hence the name pyrophyllite, from the Greek pyros (fire) and phyllos (a leaf), given by R. Hermann in 1829. The color of both varieties is white, pale green, greyish or yellowish; they are very soft (hardness of 1 to 1.5) and are greasy to the touch. The specific gravity is 2.65 - 2.85. The two varieties are thus very similar to talc.

This powder is available in required quantity from us. We make sure that this product is free from any kind of contaminant and is precisely composed. This powder can be availed at highly competitive prices from us.

The compact varieties of Pyrophyllite Powder are used for slate pencils and tailors chalk (French chalk) and carved by the Chinese into different kinds of small images and ornaments.
